Dear Mr. President
and the First Family:
This isn't Hawaii, but you can taste it from here.
In 2004 my father and his friends moved up to Chicago from Oahu to open Chicago's first authentic Hawaiian plate lunch joint.
It's nearly five years later and we're still showing Chicago how it's done back home (no pineapples!).
Chicago is a food town with its own distinctive cuisines. But, as all of us off-island kama`aina know: we crave the local grinds!
You're that much farther from your native home of Hawaii now that you're running the country from Washington DC. I'm sure you miss local-style food that much more.
So, why not get a fix? We're pretty sure you're familiar with SPAM musubi, Loco Moco (as well as the SPAM Loco Moco variation), Portuguese sausage eggs-n-rice, chicken katsu, teri beef, kalbi short ribs, and a few other things.
We're sorry to have missed you while you lived in Chicago, but we know you're a busy man. Anytime you and your family are in town we'd be proud to serve you up a taste of home!!!

In Tough Times"
- CBS 2 Chicago
Aloha Eats sounds off on SPAM
Dana Kozlov of CBS 2 Chicago made sure to stop by Aloha Eats for her story on SPAM!
We're glad Dana liked the SPAM musubis. Click on the picture above, or
here, to see why SPAM is seeing a resurgence in stores (and restaurants like ours).
SPAM at Aloha Eats is always optional, but at least you know we have Hawaiian credibility! Many mahalos to Dana at CBS 2 for
thinking of us for her piece.
"Hail To the Eats" - CBS 2 Chicago
Vince Gerasole produced a great segment on things Obama likes to eat and was kind enough to include us as an example of
authentic plate lunch and musubi one might find back in Hawaii. Many mahalos again to Vince for reminding Chicago about the multi-ethnic roots
of local Hawaiian food! The video article is archived
here
on their website.
"Hungry Hound" - ABC 7 Chicago
returns to Aloha for seconds!
Mahalo, Steve Dolinsky, for showing Chicago
how Hawaiian food gets done!

Name Change and A Franchise
What used to be "Grill" is now "Eats".
That wasn't so bad, now was it?
We're the same crew from Hawaii, though, so no worries!
"Why the change?" some of you might ask.
Well, the short answer is: legal.
The better answer is: We're growing!
We're opening the doors of our business to others by making available our franchise.
You've probably eaten here often enough to know we have lots of fans from all over
Chicago-land (many of which are from Hawaii - howzit'!), and now the opportunity to
open one of your own is here.
More information will be made available on this web-site in the future. Until then, if you have
an interest in franchising please call our number at 773.935.6828 and leave a name, phone number,
and a best time to call and we'll get back to you as soon as possible. Sorry, but our staff is
unable to answer your questions regarding franchising.
Thank you,
-The Management
